Could Your Child Become a Karate Kid?

This morning we welcomed Sempai Richard and Sempai Tristan from Sama Karate.  They were here to talk about the karate club that meets every Friday in school telling us that “karate” means “empty handed defence”.  They demonstrated some of the techniques children will learn which included blocks, kicks and a “kata”: a series of moves.  Richard also discussed the promise children must make to only practise moves at home or at the karate club!

If your child is interested in learning the self-discipline and control needed for karate, please ask for a letter from the office and they will be able to start either this week or next!
